Are you having any of these common issues?

• I'm subscribed to a channel but not getting notifications.
• I am getting some but not all notifications.
• I used to get notifications but now I don't.
• I'm getting notifications but they're not popping up on my screen.
• I am not getting notifications at all, anywhere.
• I want to get notifications from my Chrome browser (computer only).
• I want to get email notifications (computer only).

Before you get started, go to the YouTube app.

Check that you subscribed to the channel

You may sometimes get recommendation notifications for activity on channels that you aren’t subscribed to.

To make sure that you're subscribed to a channel, open the channel page. You should see, “SUBSCRIBED” on the page. If you see the subscribe button , it means you aren’t currently subscribed. You can tap the button to subscribe.

Check your channel notification settings

By default, you’ll only get occasional notifications when you subscribe to a channel. If you're subscribed to a channel but aren't getting all notifications, follow these instructions to turn on all notifications:

1. Go to the channel for which you'd like to get all notifications.
2. Tap Subscribed.
3. Tap All .

Check the account you're signed in to

Make sure that you're signed in to the account with the notification settings you've set.

1. Select your profile picture .
2. You'll see which account you're signed in to at the top. 
3. If it's not the one with the notification settings you've set, tap your profile.
   1. Select the account you'd like to sign in with.
   2. To sign in to a different account, tap Add .

Check your YouTube app notification settings

1. At the top of your screen, select your profile picture .
2. Tap Settings  > Notifications.
3. Turn on notifications for “Subscriptions”.

You can also select Channel settings to see a list of channels you’re subscribed to, and your notification settings for each channel. To get all notifications for a channel, make sure its bell icon is ringing .

Check your device settings

You can choose whether to get notifications from certain apps on your phone in your phone’s notification settings. If you’re having trouble getting YouTube notifications, check your mobile phone’s Settings app. Make sure you’ve selected to get notifications from the YouTube app.

1. Open the Android settings app .
2. Tap Apps & notifications.
3. Select the YouTube app.
4. Select Notifications.
5. Make sure the checkbox next to “General notifications” is checked.
