TV measurement on YouTube and YouTube TV

Some advertisers and content owners are interested in understanding how their content is performing on YouTube and YouTube TV.

To provide this info, YouTube partners with Nielsen to measure content performance. Nielsen TV market research measures your viewing behaviour.

Follow the steps below to opt out or check your opt-out status, according to Nielsen's website and policies:

You can opt out of ads personalisation within your Android device's settings page. To opt out, tap Settings and then Google and then Ads and then Opt out of Ad Personalisation.

Note: Personalised ads are not shown on Made for Kids content

Once you've opted out, your viewer demographic data will no longer be included in Nielsen TV measurement. We may communicate regularly with Nielsen to confirm member opt-out status.

TV devices

You can opt out of ads personalisation by visiting Google Ads settings.
