Eligible advertising formats
When you monetise a claimed video, YouTube displays advertisements with the video (when users view it on a monetisable platform). In order to simplify your ad format enablement settings, all advertising formats are enabled by default. YouTube automatically determines which ad formats are displayed for any given viewing based on a variety of contextual factors.
Our ad-serving policies on claimed content are:
- Videos with at least an 80% visual or audiovisual Content ID match are eligible to show in-stream ads.
- Videos claimed with at least an 80% audio Content ID match and at least 5,000 views are eligible to show in-stream ads.
- Videos claimed by Descriptive Search or less than an 80% Content ID match are eligible to show in-stream ads if they have over 10,000 views. Partners can monetise videos with fewer than 10,000 views with overlays, display ads and TrueView in-display.
