Set up comment and live chat filters

Beginning November 09, 2018, YouTube comments will no longer support Circles and Squares in our hidden user lists. Any comments made on your channel from users in a Google+ Circle or Square that were previously hidden will continue to be hidden.

Moving forward, new comments from these users will not be hidden. You can hide new comments from users by adding those specific individuals to your hidden users list. Learn more about managing hidden users.

You can set up filters to help you manage new comments and messages, including selecting users whose comments and live chat messages will always be approved or blocked.

Select users for automatically approved comments

Select Approved users who can create comments that are automatically approved and shown (even if you've chosen to hold inappropriate comments for review, block links, or block words). These users can also participate in invite-only live chats.

  1. Sign in to YouTube Studio beta.
  2. From the left menu, select Comments.
  3. On a comment left by the user you want to make an approved user, select More  and then Always approve comments from this user.
