Replace or delete your videos

Replace a video

You can't replace an old video with a new one and keep the original view count, comments, or ratings. Instead, you can use an annotation in your old video to link viewers to the new version of the video. Learn how to add annotations to your videos.

You can also make changes to a video you've already uploaded using YouTube Video Enhancements.

Delete your own videos

You can delete the videos you uploaded to your YouTube channel. You can only remove videos that you have uploaded yourself.

Keep in mind that video deletions are permanent. Once you've deleted a video, you can't recover it through YouTube, so make sure you have a backup if you want to access it again.

After you delete the video, no one will be able to view it. Keep in mind that it may take some time for video search results and thumbnail images to disappear.
