Use YouTube on mobile browsers

You can use YouTube for Mobile web or desktop mode on your phone.

Sign in

To get the most out of YouTube, sign in to view your favourite videos, playlists and more.

To sign in:

1. In the top right-hand corner of the screen, tap the profile picture .
2. Tap Sign in .
3. Sign in with your Google Account.

If you can't sign in to your account, you can recover your Google Account. For more help, visit the Google Accounts forum.

Editing and uploading aren't possible on mobile browsers, but you can download the YouTube app and learn how to upload and edit there.

Note: Your browser must support JavaScript to use the YouTube Mobile site.

Find your way around YouTube

After you sign in, the most important features will be available in four tabs:

Home

When you open YouTube in a mobile app or browser, you'll land on Home . Here you'll see videos recommended for you. Your preferences and activity on YouTube will influence your video recommendations.

If you have no significant prior watch history, YouTube features that rely on your watch history to give video recommendations, like recommendations on the YouTube homepage, are removed. For instance, this applies if you are a new user before watching any videos or if you choose to clear and turn off your watch history.

Subscriptions

The Subscriptions tab will only show videos from the channels that you're subscribed to. Those channels will also be listed at the top of the page. Tapping on the channel artwork will take you to that channel.

Library

The Library tab is home to your watch history, playlists, uploads and purchases.

Settings

Tap your profile picture to access Settings, get help or send us feedback on the mobile website.
