Allow ads on videos that you watch

Ads on YouTube help support the creators you love and let billions of people around the world use the streaming service. When you block YouTube ads, you violate YouTube’s Terms of Service. If you use ad blockers, we’ll ask you to allow ads on YouTube or sign up for YouTube Premium. If you continue to use ad blockers, we may block your video playback. To avoid the interruption, allow ads on YouTube or sign up for YouTube Premium.

How to allow ads on YouTube

Follow the instructions for your ad blocking extension.

AdBlock

To allowlist YouTube in the AdBlock extension:

1. In the upper right-hand corner of your browser extension, click AdBlock . A small number may be covering AdBlock.
2. Click Don’t run on pages on this site.
3. In the “Don’t run AdBlock on” dialog, click Exclude. The AdBlock icon changes to Allowed .
4. Reload YouTube.
    

Adblock Plus

To allowlist YouTube in the Adblock Plus extension:

1. In the upper right-hand corner of your browser extension, click Adblock Plus . A small number may be covering Adblock Plus.
2. Click Power  so that it slides left.
3. To reload YouTube, click the Refresh button.

uBlock Origin

To allowlist YouTube in the uBlock Origin extension:

1. In the upper right-hand corner of your browser extension, click uBlock origin . A small number may be covering uBlock Origin.
2. Click Power . The icon will turn gray indicating that ads on YouTube aren’t blocked anymore.
3. To reload YouTube, click Refresh .

Other ad blockers

To allowlist YouTube in other ad blocker extensions:

1. Click the icon of the ad blocker extension for your browser. It’s usually in the upper right-hand corner of your browser.
   1. Note that you may have more than one ad blocker installed.
2. Follow the instructions for turning off the ad blocker for YouTube. You may have to select a menu option or click a button.
3. Reload YouTube by following the instructions, or clicking your browser’s “Refresh” or “Reload” button.
    

How to report an issue 

If a message about turning off your ad blocker surfaces when you don’t have one or it’s already off, tell us. To report the issue, go to the bottom left-hand corner of the message and click Report issue.
