As your organization’s administrator, you can migrate user data to your Google Workspace domain using Google Workspace Migrate. You set up Google Workspace Migrate on a group of Microsoft Windows machines. You can deploy these machines on-premises or in the cloud.
Eligible source environments
You can migrate user data from the following data sources:
- Microsoft Exchange
- Microsoft SharePoint
- Microsoft OneDrive
- File shares
- Google Workspace
During this launch phase, this product is subject to Google Workspace's Data Processing Amendment.
For information on how to register, go to the Google Workspace Migrate Beta Test Application. Your target domain (but not your source domain) needs to be approved as part of the registration process. The turn around time for admittance into the beta program for qualifying applicants is approximately 2 weeks. Make sure you allow for this delay in your migration plans.
If you purchased your Google service from a Google reseller, you can still sign up for the Google Workspace Migrate Beta program. Your reseller should complete the Beta program form and specify that they’re a Google partner.
Support for Google Workspace Migrate
The Google Workspace support team supports Google Workspace Migrate in accordance with the terms of the Google Workspace Technical Support Services Guidelines.
About smart features & personalization
Before you migrate data, you need to decide if smart features in Gmail and Google Chat and Meet as well as personalization features in other Google products can use data from Gmail, Chat, and Meet. For certain features to work, such as autosorting in Gmail, smart features and personalization must be turned on in the target account before you migrate data.
