Android Management Experience setup guide

Set up and manage Android Management Experience

To set up Android Management Experience, you need to register your company using a Google Account. The account must be one that is not already associated with an enterprise or managed by an EMM. You can then set up individual user devices and use a web client to manage user accounts, devices, and apps.

Setup process

Step 1: Register your company
  1. Go to the registration site and click Set up a Demo.
  2. Enter your company name.
  3. (Optional) Set basic security settings for your company devices.

By default, screenshots are disabled within the work profile, and a screen lock is enabled on the device.

  4. Select apps to install on company devices.

You can choose apps to automatically install on users devices. Once the device is set up these apps are automatically installed in the work profile.

  5. Click Start Demo.
  6. Review your details and accept the terms and conditions.
  7. Click Submit.

  1. Enter your Google Account details.
  2. To evaluate how Android Management works on a device that has both work and personal data, select I am using my own device and want to keep work and personal data separate.
  3. To evaluate how Android Management works on a device that is completely managed by your company, and only contains work data, select I have a brand new device which I want the company to manage entirely.
Step 3: Generate a QR code or send an enrollment email to a user

Users enroll their devices by either scanning a generated QR code, or clicking a link in an enrollment email that is sent to them. Both of these actions are performed on the device that is being enrolled.

Note: If the user opens the enrollment email on a separate device such as a computer, and clicks Try Demo, they are redirected to the Android Management Experience enrollment web page to get a generated QR code which they can scan to setup a device.

  1. Open the web client.
  2. Click Manage users & devices.
  3. Select an existing user or add a new one.
  4. Choose to generate a QR code, or send an email invitation to your user:
    • To generate a new QR enrollment code, click More More and then Set Up Now.
    • To immediately send an email with both an enrollment link and a copy of the QR code to the user, click More More and then Email instructions.
Step 4: Set up a personal device and keep work and personal data separate
