Change your Google notifications

When you search on Google for something like TV shows or your favorite video game, you might be able to get notifications for that topic.

Important: Notifications are only available for some trending topics, like people, places, or things.

Get notifications

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google app Google Search.
  2. Search for a topic you want to follow, like a sports team or TV show.
  3. Next to a topic, tap Get notified .
  4. If you don't find the bell from Search results, tap Menu and then Get Notified .

Stop getting notifications for a specific topic

If you don’t want to get notifications for a certain topic, you can manage your notifications.

In the Google app

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google app Google Search.
  2. At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial and then Settings and then Notifications and then Manage notifications you opted into.
  3. To remove the notification, to the right of the topic, tap Remove.

On google.com

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, go to google.com.
  2. Search for the topic.
  3. Tap Following stop getting notifications for that topic.

Turn notifications on or off

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google app Google Search.
  2. At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial and then Settings and then Notifications.
  3. Next to a topic, turn Notifications on or off.

Delete your notification activity 

  1. On your device, go to myactivity.google.com.
  2. Tap Other Google activity.
  3. Under "Your interests & notifications," tap Delete.
