Change your Discover settings

In Discover, you can change your language, video, and ads settings and decide what activity you share with Google.

Unhide or hide stories in another language

Stop getting stories in another language

1. On your Android device, open your Google app   or go to google.com in your browser.
2. At the bottom right of a card, tap More .
3. Tap Don't show stories in [language].

Tip: This feature might not be available for all cards.

Bring back stories in another language

In the Google app

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google app .
2. At the top right, tap your profile picture or initial  Settings  Interests Hidden.
3. Under "Types of Info," unhide the language you want to bring back.

In your browser

1. On your Android phone or tablet, in your browser, go to google.com.
2. At the top right, tap your profile picture or initial  Settings.
3. Under "Discover," tap Manage interests Hidden.
4. Under "Types of Info," unhide the language you want to bring back.

Change weather settings

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google app .
2. In Discover, tap the Weather card.
3. At the top right, tap More   choose Fahrenheit or Celsius.

Control autoplay video previews

Videos in Discover could automatically play without sound. You can turn these video previews on or off, and change when they play.

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google app .
2. At the top right, tap your profile picture or initial Settings General .
3. Tap Autoplay video previews.
4. Choose Never, Only on Wi-Fi, or On Wi-Fi & mobile data.

Change your Discover notifications settings

You can change your Google app settings, like Discover notifications, or turn Google app notifications on or off. Learn how to change your Google notifications.

Change which ads you get

You can’t use Discover without ads, but you can change which ads you’re shown. You can recognize these cards by the word . To stop seeing ads from a certain advertiser:

1. At the top right of an ad, tap More   Why am I seeing this ad?
2. Turn off Show ads from [advertiser].

To change which ads you see, go to Ads Settings. Discover can personalize which ads you see based on some of your Google settings and activities. To find and adjust past activity saved to your Google Account, go to My Activity.
