Change your Discover settings

In Discover, you can change your language, video, and ads settings and decide what activity you share with Google.

Change which languages you use in Discover

Stop getting stories in another language

  1. On your Android device, open your Google app Google   or go to google.com in your browser.
  2. At the bottom right of a card, tap More More.
  3. Tap Don't show stories in [language].

Note: This feature might not be available for all cards.

Bring back stories in another language

In the Google app

  1. On your Android device, open your Google app Google .
  2. Tap More Moreand thenInterests and then Hidden.
  3. Under "Types of Info," unhide the language you want to bring back.

In your browser

  1. On your Android device, go to google.com in your browser.
  2. Tap Menu Menu and thenSettings.
  3. Under "Discover," tap Manage interests and then Hidden.
  4. Under "Types of Info," unhide the language you want to bring back.

Change which ads you get

You can’t stop getting all ads, but you can change which ads you’re shown. You can recognize these cards by the word Ad. To stop seeing ads from a certain advertiser:

  1. At the top right of an ad from that advertiser, tap More More and then Why am I seeing this ad?
  2. Turn off Show ads from [advertiser].

To change which ads you see, go to Ads Settings. Discover can personalize which ads you see based on some of your Google settings and activities. To see and adjust past activity saved to your Google Account, go to My Activity.

Control video autoplay

Videos in Discover could start playing automatically without sound. You can turn these video previews on or off, and change when they play. Learn how to change your Google app settings or change your Google Search browser settings.

Find and delete your Discover activity

Discover activity is private, and you can only see your activity if you’re signed in to your Google Account.

  1. Visit the My Activity page. You may be asked to sign in to your Google Account.
  2. On this page, you can see a daily summary of the cards that the Google app sent to your device. You can see whether you viewed, customized, or hid each card.
  3. To delete your activity, learn how to delete your activity.

What activity is saved in Discover

When you use Discover, Google stores and uses the following information in your activity:

  • The cards and results that appear in Discover.
  • Which cards you view or customize.
  • Topics you mark as "Not interested in."
  • The devices you use to access Discover.
