Fix issues with Google Go

Fix connection issues with Google Go

If you can't connect to wifi or have a slow connection, try these fixes:

Check if you have the latest app version

  1. On your Android phone or tablet, go to the Google Goapp Google Go.
  2. Tap Update. If "Installed" appears, you already have the latest version.

Turn on lite mode

To get search results faster and use less data, you can turn on lite mode.

  1. Open the Google Go app Google Go.
  2. At the top right, tap Settings .
  3. Under “Data,” turn on Use lite mode.

Turn on notifications

 If you’re having trouble connecting to wifi, turn on notifications to get search results when you are back online. 

  1. Open the Google Go app Google Go.
  2. At the top right, tap Settings .
  3. Under “Notifications,” turn on Search results are ready and Web page has loaded.

Voice search isn't working

Check your language settings

  1. Open the Google Go app Google Go.
  2. At the top right, tap Settings .
  3. Choose the app language you want to use.

Try activating voice search

  1. Open the Google Go app Google Go.
  2. At the bottom, tap the Microphone .
  3. Raise your device and slowly speak into it.
  4. Use short phrases such as “When was the Taj Mahal built?”

Listen mode is too fast or too slow

  1. Open the Google Go app Google Go.
  2. Search for an article and then tap the article to open it.
  3. At the bottom, tap Play.
  4. Tap Speed to hear the article faster or slower.
