Add & customize your Search widget

Search for info with Google app widget on your Home screen.

You can control the color, shape, and transparency of the Search widget on your Android phone or tablet.

Customize your Search widget 

1. Add the Search widget to your homepage.
   • Learn how to add a widget.
2. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google app .
3. At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial Settings Search widget Customize widget.
4. At the bottom, tap the icons to customize the color, shape, transparency and Google logo.
5. Tap Save.

Reset your Search widget settings

Important: If you reset the widget to default or clear your Google app data, your customization settings will be reset.

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google app .
2. At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial Settings Search widget Customize widget.
3. At the bottom, tap Reset to default style  Save.

Tip: You can reset your widget to default. 

Remove the Search widget

You can remove the Search widget from your phone or tablet. Learn how to remove an app, shortcut, widget, or group.

If you're on an older device, you can’t remove the Search widget from your phone or tablet.
