Once you have access to SGE (Search Generative Experience), you can use AI-powered tools to create new images. Tell Google the image you want and SGE will create new, unique images for you.
What you need
Important: Currently, this feature is available in the US and in English only.
- Latest version of Chrome browser . Download or update Chrome.
- Be 18 or over.
- A personal Google Account that you manage on your own. For now, Search Labs and its experiments are not available to Google Workspace accounts, including Google Workspace for Education accounts.
- SGE turned on.
Create images in Google Search
- On your computer, go to Google Search.
- In the search box, enter a request to create an image. For example:
Create an image of a puppy on mars
Create a parrot made of glass
Paint me a purple eagle
- Wait for the images to generate. It can take several seconds.
- To view a larger version of an image, click it.
Create images in Google Images
Important: Image generation is not available for all image searches.
- On your computer, go to Google Images.
- In the search box, search for what you want to see. For example:
Interior design ideas
Wedding floral arrangements
Raised bed garden designs
- Scroll down and find the “Create something new” card with a “Generate” button.
- Click Generate. This creates images based on your search.
- Wait for the images to generate. It can take several seconds.
- To view a larger version of an image, click it.
Do more with AI generated images
Edit the prompt- Click an AI-generated image.
- Below the image, click Edit .
- Edit the prompt.
- Click Generate Image.
- Click the AI-generated image you want to download.
- Below the image, click Export Download . This downloads the image to your device.
- Click the AI-generated image you want to export.
- Below the image, click Export Google Drive . This saves a copy of the file to your Google Drive.
- Click the AI-generated image you want to share.
- Click Share .
- Follow the on-screen instructions.
Give feedback or report an image
Give feedback on an imageYour feedback is used to improve the quality of our image generation models.
- Click the AI-generated image you want to give feedback on.
- Click Good image or Bad image .
If you believe an image violates our Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy, you can report it.
- Click the AI-generated image you want to report.
- At the top right, click More Report this result .
- Follow the on-screen instruction.
Why some images can't be displayed
At Google, we are always working to improve your experience. Google uses automated systems to disallow images that violate our Generative AI Prohibited Use Policy. Sometimes prompts may produce images that violate our policy, and these images cannot be displayed.
