Find the URL of a page or image

You may need to know the web address, or URL, of an image or page if you want to paste it into a form or share it with someone.

Get a webpage URL

Computer

  1. Do a Google search for the page you want to find.
  2. Click the search result with the URL you need. This will take you to the site.
  3. In your browser’s address bar at the top of the page, click once to select the entire URL.
  4. Copy the URL by right-clicking it > Copy.
  5. Paste the URL by right-clicking > Paste.

Mobile browser

  1. Do a Google search for the page you want to find.
  2. Touch the search result to go to the site.
  3. Touch and hold the address bar at the top of the page.
  4. Follow the instructions for your browser:
    • Chrome on Android: Touch Cut.
    • Chrome on iOS: Touch Select > Copy. 
    • Safari: Touch Select.
Get an image URL

Computer

  1. Do a search on images.google.com for the image you want to find.
  2. Right-click the image.
  3. Depending on what system you’re using, select the image URL by clicking one these:
    • Chrome: Copy image URL
    • Safari: Copy image address
    • Internet Explorer: Properties > Copy the URL address shown
    • Firefox: Copy image location

Mobile browser

  1. Do a search on images.google.com for the image you want to find.
  2. Touch and hold the image.
  3. Depending on what browser you’re using, select the image URL by touching the links below:
    • Chrome: Copy link address
    • Safari: Copy
Get a search results page URL

Computer

  1. Do a Google search for the page you want to find.
  2. In your browser’s address bar at the top of the page, select the entire URL. (If you're looking for the URL of an image result, you need to click on the image to open up a larger version before selecting the URL.) 
  3. Copy the URL by right-clicking it > Copy.

Mobile

  1. Do a Google search for the page you want to find.
  2. Touch and hold the address bar at the top of the page. (If you're looking for the URL of an image result, you need to click on the image to open up a larger version before selecting the URL.) 
    • Chrome: In the top right, touch the Chrome menu Menu > Share > Copy.
    • Safari: At the bottom of the page, touch the Share button  > Copy.
    • Google app: You can't copy a search results URL from the Google app on Android or iOS. Try doing the same search in a mobile browser instead.
