Google Search policies for images & video boxes

When you search on Google, boxes or carousels with relevant image or video results will sometimes display along with other relevant content from the web.

To help ensure these are helpful experiences for everyone, we have systems in place to prevent their display when the content within them might be in violation of Google Search’s overall policies or these policies for Search features:

  • Dangerous content
  • Harassing content
  • Hateful content
  • Manipulated media
  • Medical content
  • Sexually explicit content
  • Terrorist content
  • Violence & gore
  • Vulgar language & profanity

Learn more about these Content policies for Google Search.

These policies for images and video boxes also apply to thumbnail images that may display next to web results.
