Manage your Google Podcasts settings

On your mobile device, you can manage your Google Podcasts settings, like:

  • Auto download new episodes or remove old ones from your subscriptions.
  • Get or stop subscription notifications.
  • Get or stop personalized podcast recommendations.
  • Autoplay an episode after your current episode is over.
  • Choose a light or dark theme.

When you’re signed in to your Google Account, Google recommends podcasts based on:

  • Your Google Podcasts history.
  • Your activity across Google products if you have Web & App Activity set to On.

Turn personalized recommendations on or off 

  1. On your computer, go to Google Podcasts.
  2. At the top left, click Menu Menu and then Settings
  3. Under “Personalization,” set Show personalized recommendations to On or Off.

Choose your preferred languages

Important: Not all languages are available to select as a preferred language.

You can find and listen to podcasts in up to 2 languages. To choose your languages:

  1. On your computer, go to Google Podcasts.
  2. In the left panel, click Settings.
    • If you don't find "Settings," first click Menu Menu at the top left.
  3. Next to "Languages & regions," click Manage.
  4. Next to each preferred language, check the box.
    • To remove a preferred language, uncheck its box.
  5. At the bottom, click Update.
