2.2 Check that your site is indexed

Make sure your site is indexed by Google, or else visitors won’t be able to see it in search results. Check if Google already knows about your site by performing a "site:" search like this:

site:example.com

  • If pages from your site show up, that means they’re in Google’s index.
     
  • If your site doesn’t show up and it's very new, it's possible that Google hasn't discovered it yet. Learn how to add a site to Google and use the Submit Your Content page to expedite our discovery of it.
     
  • If your site doesn't show up but it used to, it may be in violation of Google's Webmaster Guidelines. You can check the ‘Manual Actions’ page in Search Console to see if there has been manual action taken against your site.
