Cut, copy, and paste elements

All Google Web Designer elements, including complex elements like groups and components, can be copied and pasted between documents.

To select an element:

Use the Selection tool  to select elements either by clicking them, or by dragging a rectangular selection marquee around them.

To cut an element or elements:

Once the element is selected, do one of the following:

  • Select Cut from the Edit menu.
  • Right-click the selected element or elements, and select Cut from the pop-up menu.
  • Press Control + X (windows) or Command + X (Mac).

To copy an element or elements:

Once the element is selected, do one of the following:

  • Select Copy from the Edit menu.
  • Right-click the selected element or elements, and select Copy from the pop-up menu.
  • Press Control + C (windows) or Command + C (Mac).

To paste an element or elements:

Once the element is copied or cut, do one of the following:

  • Select Paste from the Edit menu to paste the element or elements along with any keyframes.
  • Select Paste without animations from the Edit menu to paste the element or elements only, without any keyframes.
  • Right-click the selected element or elements, and select Paste from the pop-up menu. Animations will also be pasted.
  • Press Control + V (windows) or Command + V (Mac). Animations will also be pasted.
