Preview your ad or HTML page

As you're building your ad or HTML page, you can preview it in your browser to see how it will look and behave once it's published, including any events.

To preview your work, click the Preview button  in the View bar in the top right corner of the window.

You cannot preview a document in your browser by directly opening the HTML file included in your source files. Use Google Web Designer's preview functionality instead.

Browser selection

Google Web Designer recognizes which browsers are on your system and lists them in a pop-up menu when you click the selection arrow on the Preview button. The browser you select becomes the default for future previews.

Preview protocol

By default, Web Designer automatically sets up a local web server for previewing with the http:// protocol. You can change the preview protocol in your preferences, but note that you can't view some types of content over the file:// protocol.

Previews are intended for viewing on your own computer. If you want to share a file with other people, publish it instead.
