The Video component

This component is not supported by AdWords or AdMob.

The Video component lets you place a video in your ad.

To add the Video component to your project:

  1. Open the Components panel, then the Media folder.
  2. Drag the Video component to the stage.
  3. In the Video properties section of the Properties panel, configure the component by setting its properties (described below).

Using video with mobile browsers

Mobile browsers may disable video autoplay to keep users from incurring data charges for unrequested content. The best practice for mobile browsers is to turn off autoplay and to turn on video controls instead. This ensures that your video will work the way you intend it to.

Property Description
Name Sets the video name. (Required.)
Autoplay When selected, your video will play automatically when the page has loaded.
Loop When selected, the video will repeat.
Mute When selected, the video will start muted.
Show controls When selected, the video will display with a standard video control bar.
Sources Lets you specify the URL sources for multiple video formats, with the sources separated by commas.
Google Web Designer supports all video types supported in the HTML5 video specification, including MPEG-4 (.mp4), Ogg (.ogg/.ogv), and WebM (.webm) formats.
Poster Specifies the URL of a poster frame to display until the user plays or seeks the video.

Events can be used to trigger other actions in your ad. The Video component sends the following events:

Event Description
Play after pause Sent when playback of the media starts after having been paused; that is, when playback is resumed after a prior pause event.
Paused Sent when playback is paused.
Playing Sent when the media begins to play (either for the first time, after having been paused, or after ending and then restarting).
Ended Sent when playback completes.
Volume change Sent when the audio volume changes (both when the volume is set and when the muted attribute is changed).
Seeked Sent when a seek operation completes.
Buffering Sent when the requested operation (such as playback) is delayed pending the completion of another operation (such as a seek).

The following Video component actions can be triggered by other events:

Action Configuration options
Toggle mute none
Pause none
Play none
Replay none
Seek Time - The time in seconds.
Set Volume Set Volume (0-100) - The volume of the video as a percentage.
Set Sources Sources - The URL sources for multiple formats, separated by commas.

Components can't be previewed inside the Google Web Designer interface. To see the component in action, preview your ad in your preferred browser.
