Wear OS app is causing Google Play store to only display apps for Smart Watch. Previously Wear OS app caused Google Play Store error "Authentication failed". After a factory reset on phone Google Play Store is only displaying apps for Smart Watch. Unable to install apps such as Instagram and Google Play Store will not update any apps. Hung in "Download" or randomly deleting apps during install.

Hi Paul,
What watch and phone do you have? And is it Google Play Store on the phone which is only showing watch apps? If you uninstall the Wear OS app, does the behavior return to normal?

Having the same problem with OnePlus 3 + LG G Watch.

Play Store showed updates Fit, Maps, and Wear OS but only Fit managed to update. After updating, I got two additional Fit apps (like it does on my watch) and the main Fit app showed a splash screen clearly meant for a smartwatch. Apps like WhatsApp and Twitter was "no longer compatible" with my phone and disappeared altogether after a while. Only three apps remained on the top apps chart.

After clearing data for Play Store, it would look normal for a couple of hours before it acts up again.

Please be sure to report this to the Play Store team via Menu > Help & feedback > Send feedback within that app.

It appears the bug is a lot bigger.
