Updates to Google Fit on Wear OS

Tracking your workouts just got easier
We’ve improved workout tracking on Wear OS with a simpler user experience and fresh new design. Below is a deeper look at the Google Fit improvements coming your way:

See your progress at a glance
During workouts, you'll now see key metrics up front with two tiles dedicated to your performance. A quick swipe right allows easy access to your media controls and settings mid workout.

Keep an eye on your pace
Get an alert each kilometer/mile, showing your split time at a glance, and an update on how you’re trending against your last split.

New heart rate zones and metric customization
Quickly check if you are gaining Heart Points with the heart rate zones on the top of your screen. Workout performance metrics (Calories, steps, time, Heart Points) can be changed with a tap to track what is most important to you.

Stay motivated with workout goals
Set yourself a target distance, calorie count, steps or Heart Points goal for each workout, and get updates on your progress throughout

Celebrate hitting your goals
Take a moment to celebrate your success with daily goal notifications for Heart Points and steps.

Prevent accidental taps
It's easy to accidentally tap your watch during a workout, especially when you're in the zone. You can now switch on Touch Lock directly from your workout. With this on, you'll still be able to use the hardware buttons to pause, resume, and switch screens, and hold the power button to switch it off again.

Note: for this to be available, your watch must be on the latest system version of Wear OS (H MR2).

Remember to take a moment for yourself
The new Breathe Tile helps you decompress with easier access to guided breathing sessions. Once it’s finished, you can view a summary that includes how your heart rate changed between the beginning and end, and you can also see a recap of your breathing sessions for the week.

If you already use Google Fit on your Wear OS by Google watch, you’ll see these changes on your watch beginning this week. If you’re new to Google Fit, download the latest version through the Play Store on your watch.
