reminders not working on watch 0 Recommended Answers 23 Replies 2 Upvotes

Everything is up to date on Fossil Sport and Note 8. If I use Google Assistant on phone or watch or Google Home to enter reminder it will work fine on phone. (shows in reminders and alarm goes off on phone).  It also shows up in Reminders app on watch but only shows under the snoozed section.  After reminder goes off on phone the watch will move the reminder to the current section with no notification.

Hi John,

Check in the Wear OS app on your phone under Notifications > Change watch notifications to make sure that the Google app isn't listed beneath the Won't notify your watch header.

Let me know how it goes,
John

It is listed to notify.  The problem is that the reminders show as snoozed in the reminders app on the watch. Once the notification is triggered on the phone the reminder moves to the current reminder section on the watch. It seems to me that when you create a new reminder it should show as current, not as snoozed. This is the third Wear OS watch I have tried with the same results.  Google reminders created on the phone show properly on my Galaxy Watch but not on Google product.

Hey John,

Thanks for confirming. I just did a quick test: I asked Google Assistant on my Pixelbook to remind me about something in a few minutes. I checked the Reminders app on my LG Watch Sport and confirmed that the upcoming reminder was listed at Snoozed. At the appropriate time, I saw the reminder notification pop up on my Pixel 3, and then a moment later my watch notified me as well. It seems to be working as expected here.

In this case, "Snoozed" indicates that it is a pending, future reminder that hasn't been triggered yet - it's "snoozed until later". Similar terminology for snoozing messages in Gmail. Since the reminder is correctly moving from the Snoozed category to the Current one, it sounds like that piece is working properly for you; you just aren't getting the notification that you should.

Do you have any apps set not to notify your watch?

Thanks,
John

Have you adjusted any of the system-level notification settings for the Google app on your phone? Do the Reminder notifications on your phone make a sound?

No changes on phone and reminder notifications on phone work fine (sound & notification display). I have noticed in the Wear OS App on phone that Google is not listed in the "RECENTLY NOTIFIED YOUR WATCH"  section, only shows in the "ALL OTHER APPS" section at the bottom. As mentioned before the notification immediately changes from snoozed to current as soon as the notification is triggered on the phone so I guess the watch recognizes the notification but does not alert.

Can you check on the watch at Settings > Apps & notifications > App notifications > Show all > Google to make sure all of those options are enabled?

Well thanks for checking!

I'm afraid I'm running out of ideas of things to check. You've already ruled out pretty much anything I could think of. I don't know what other variables might explain why the reminder notifications seem to work fine for me but not for you.

I'm going to reach out to some other "experts" to see if they have any ideas.

I just a reminder notification on my Fossil Sport.  Hopefully this is now fixed.

Update: it seems to work if I create the reminder on my phone. If I make the reminderon the Home Mini it doesn't show up on the watch, only the phone.
