Hi everyone,

Starting today, Android 8.0 Oreo will begin rolling out to select Android Wear devices. Roll out dates are determined by the watch manufacturer.
Improvements include:
  • Customizable vibration strength for notifications
  • Touch Lock option to keep  screen from activating in wet conditions
  • Added support for additional countries and languages: Belgium (Dutch), Czech Republic (Czech), El Salvador (Spanish), Honduras (Spanish), Nigeria (English), Paraguay (Spanish), Portugal (Portuguese)

When available, Android 8.0 Oreo will be automatically downloaded and installed on your watch while it is on the charger at night.

NOTE: To see full list of Android Wear watches that will receive Oreo update, check here.

"pursuing" aka mostly no update for the Fossil Q Control, which is just out 1 month? Is this a joke?

Could you tell us your policy for those that are not yet listed in the set of devices that get Oreo update https://support.google.com/androidwear/thread/25693?hl=en? Is the work in progress under the hood? For some of those? Or all of those? Or it it dependent on manufacturers, not on Google?

It is up to the device manufacturers to create the updates for their devices. So no, it's not on Google.

That's not 100% true. If the update wont come, because of "too old" CPU, for example everything before Snapdragon 2100, it is Google's fault because they decided not to support the CPU anymore with Oreo or not updating drivers.
