If you’ve synced your watch and phone before, you might need to complete extra steps to set them up again.
First, make sure your phone and watch are:
- Powered on
- Close together
- Not in Airplane mode
It takes too long to set up my watch
You might need to wait several minutes for your watch and phone to share info.
If you still find “Getting watch details” or “Finishing…” on your phone after 20 minutes, try the steps below.

Try to set up your watch and phone again
After you update your phone or app, try to connect your devices again.
- On your phone, open the Wear OS by Google app
.
- At the top, tap the Drop down arrow
Add a new watch.
- To finish, follow the onscreen instructions.
Make sure your phone's Bluetooth is turned on
- On your Android phone, open the Settings app.
- Tap Connected devices. Then, if you see Connection preferences, tap it.
- Tap Bluetooth.
- Check that Bluetooth is turned on.
Remove the watch from Bluetooth memory
- On your Android phone, open the Settings app.
- Tap Connected devices
Previously connected devices.
- Tap the name of the watch you want to remove.
- Tap Settings
Forget
Forget device.
Set up your watch and phone again
- On your phone, open the Wear OS by Google app
.
- At the top, tap the Drop down arrow
Add a new watch.
- To finish, follow the onscreen instructions.
Turn your devices off and on again

On your watch, press the Power button for 15 seconds or until the watch shuts down.

Restart your Android phone.

- On your phone, open the Wear OS by Google app
.
- At the top, tap the Drop down arrow
Add a new watch.
- To finish, follow the onscreen instructions.
Note: When you reset your watch to factory settings, all apps, settings, and data on your watch are erased.
Disconnect your watch from the Wear OS app
- On your phone, open the Wear OS by Google app
.
- At the bottom, tap Advanced settings
Forget watch.
- To confirm, tap Forget watch.
Remove the watch from Bluetooth memory
- On your Android phone, open the Settings app.
- Tap Connected devices
Previously connected devices.
- If you find your watch on the list, tap it.
- If it's not there, it's already disconnected. Skip the next step.
- Tap Settings

Forget device.
Reset your watch to factory settings

If the screen is dim, tap it to wake up the watch.
- From the top of the screen, swipe down and tap Settings
System.
- On some watches, you need to swipe left for this option.
- Scroll down and tap Disconnect and reset
.
- If you don't see this option, tap Unpair with phone
.
- If you don't see this option, tap Unpair with phone
- To confirm, tap Done
.

- On your phone, open the Wear OS by Google app
.
- At the top, tap the Drop down arrow
Add a new watch.
- To finish, follow the onscreen instructions.
