  1. Open Waze
  2. Tik op de zoekbalk.
  3. Start typing an address or name of a place. A list of results will appear.
  4. Tap your destination

You can search in a local language or in English.

Other ways to find your destination

Search by category

  1. Tik op de zoekbalk.
  2. Tap one of the category icons under the search bar. Some popular categories include Saved, Gas, Food, Parking, and Groceries. You can also tap More to see the categories as a list.

    Tip: You can refine your search results by tapping the filter labels such as "Open now," "Top rated", and "Price," located above the results.
     
  3. Select the relevant result

Navigate to a saved place

  1. Under the search bar, swipe and select the saved place you want to navigate to

Use voice search

Search for a destination in Waze with voice commands. You can also search with Google Assistant.

Navigate to a contact

To navigate to a contact, you need to share your phone contacts with Waze and have their address saved on your phone.

  1. Tik op de zoekbalk.
  2. Type your contact's name and tap when you see it. Waze searches for the address associated with the contact, and will show a list of addresses like a regular search. 
  3. Tap the address you want to navigate to
  4. Tik op Routes weergeven als je naar een nieuwe bestemming navigeert.
  5. Tik op Nu vertrekken om de navigatie te starten of tik op Later vertrekken om een rit te plannen.
Look for your destination using coordinate points

Search for a destination using latitude and longitude coordinates.

  1. Tik op de zoekbalk.
  2. Enter numerical coordinates for latitude and longitude. Separate them with a comma.  
    1. Latitude: North is positive, South is negative
    2. Longitude: East is positive, West is negative 
  3. On your device's keyboard, tap the search icon or return button

Example: In the United States, Disney's Epcot Center in Orlando, Florida is located at coordinates 28.375144,-81.549033.

Search for donation centers

  1. Tik op de zoekbalk.

  3. Tap the donation center you want to navigate to

I see a "No route" or "Routing server" error. How do I fix this?

If you see one of the above errors, here are a few things you can try:

Check your internet connection

Mogelijk wordt er een routefoutmelding weergegeven als je apparaat geen verbinding heeft met internet. Zorg ervoor dat je bent verbonden en een sterk signaal hebt.


Try closing and reopening the app

Routefouten treden soms op als je overschakelt van wifi naar een mobiele dataverbinding (of andersom).

  • Sluit Waze en open de app weer
  • Check je internetverbinding en zorg ervoor dat je een sterk signaal hebt


Check your GPS connection

If the above doesn’t work, learn how to connect Waze to your GPS.

How do I get results that are closest to my location?

When you search for a category, Waze shows you the best match, which may not always be the closest. You can change this any time you search:
  1. Tap Best match above the results. You may need to scroll down and select "More results for…" to see this option.
  2. Select Sort by distance
    Tip:     You can also select Sort by price to see results listed by price.
