Approved payment methods
The Waymo One app currently accepts the following:
Payment methods | US-based cards |
Apple Pay Google Pay |
|
Other mobile payments like Venmo, PayPal, etc. aren’t yet available.
Common payment errors
While it’s possible to see a number of different payment errors, we find the most common issues include:
- ZIP code: Ensure the ZIP code you enter matches the ZIP code on file for the credit card
- Card Verification Value: Also known as CVV, this is the three-digit number on the back of your credit card. What you enter in the app needs to match what’s on your card.
If these two items have been entered correctly but you’re still having issues, you’ll probably want to contact your card issuer or use a different payment method.
How payments are processed
You may see 2 separate pending charges for the same trip when you hail a ride through Waymo One:
- The first charge acts as a hold on your account for the amount of your trip’s initial itinerary
- This will be reversed after your trip is complete
- The second charge may reflect an updated price due to a change in your trip’s itinerary made after the initial request
- We will settle the second charge after your trip has completed
