These Waymo Premier Terms and Conditions (“Premier Terms”) govern your purchase and use of the Waymo Premier membership program (“Waymo Premier”), offered by Waymo LLC and its subsidiaries (“Waymo” or “we”).
Participation in the Program is subject to these Premier Terms, which supplement and are in addition to the general Waymo Terms of Service (“Waymo Terms”). For clarity, Waymo Premier is part of the “Services” under the Waymo Terms. Capitalized terms not defined in the Premier Terms have the meanings assigned to them in the Waymo Terms.
By clicking to agree to these Premier Terms, or by otherwise purchasing or using Waymo Premier, you agree to be bound by these Premier Terms. If you do not agree to these Premier Terms, you may not use Waymo Premier.
1. How Waymo Premier Works
Waymo Premier is a paid, automatically renewing subscription membership that provides eligible riders with certain financial benefits, service quality enhancements, and brand perks across markets where rides can be requested directly through the Waymo app (“Premier Benefits”). Waymo retains sole discretion over the timing and criteria for determining eligibility to use Waymo Premier. Premier Benefits are available only on rides requested directly through the Waymo app and do not apply to rides requested through other Access Platforms.
2. Subscription Billing, Price, and Auto-Renewal
- Membership Rate: The then-current cost of Waymo Premier will be shown to you at the time of purchase (the “Membership Rate”).
- Automatic Renewal: By purchasing Waymo Premier, you authorize Waymo to automatically charge the Membership Rate plus any applicable taxes to your default payment method at the beginning of each month until you or we cancel your Waymo Premier subscription by following the process stated in Section 6. If you subscribed during a promotion, used a coupon code, or otherwise received an initial discount, your Waymo Premier subscription will automatically renew for the full Membership Rate at the end of the discount period.
- Payment Failure: If your default payment method is expired, invalid, or declined for insufficient funds, you authorize Waymo to charge any other eligible secondary payment method saved in your Waymo Wallet. If all payment methods are declined, your Waymo Premier subscription will be paused (with access to Premier Benefits suspended) or terminated. Waymo is not responsible for any bank fees, including overdraft or insufficient funds fees, incurred by automated renewal attempts. As a reminder, use of the Waymo Wallet is subject to the Waymo Wallet Terms of Service.
- San Francisco Mitigation Tax: For riders with a registered San Francisco billing zip code, the local San Francisco transportation mitigation tax is included within the Membership Rate.
3. Financial Benefits (Waymo Cash Back)
Waymo Premier members receive Credits deposited directly into their in-app Waymo Wallet as Waymo Cash back upon the successful completion of eligible trips. See the Wallet Terms for more information about Credits.
A. Cash Back Rates
- Base Fare Cash Back: Members earn a minimum of 10% Waymo Cash back on what they pay for every eligible trip.
- Enhanced Cash Back: During periods of limited availability (such as due to heavy demand), members may receive an enhanced cash-back rate.
- Current Rates and Details: The applicable cash-back rates, including any enhanced rates during periods of elevated demand, are described on our Premier Benefits support page. Waymo may update cash-back rates from time to time at its sole discretion.
B. Promotional Interaction Rules
- If a separate promotional code or upfront discount is applied to a trip, the cash-back amount will be calculated based on the net adjusted fare after the application of the promotion.
C. Exclusions & Credit Expiration
- Wallet Payment Isolation: Using Waymo Cash to pay for a trip does not reduce the total amount of cash back earned on that trip.
- Expiration Policy: All Credits earned through Waymo Premier expire exactly 90 days from the date of issuance and must be used within the valid window. Credits are non-transferable and have no cash value.
4. Service Quality Benefits (Priority Pickup)
Waymo Premier members receive priority pickup, which places members at a relatively higher position in Waymo’s vehicle assignment queue compared to non-member riders requesting a trip at the same time and location.

5. Other Perks
Waymo Premier members may receive additional Premier Benefits from time to time, including the following:
- Early Access: Members may be offered early access to new markets.
- Cancellation Fee Waiver: Waymo will waive up to 5 cancellation charges per month for Waymo Premier members.
6. Cancellations and Refunds
- Subscription Cancellation: You may cancel your Waymo Premier subscription at any time from the “Manage Membership” page within the Waymo app.
- Access Continuation: Upon cancellation of your Waymo Premier subscription, your Waymo Premier Benefits will remain fully active until the conclusion of your current billing cycle. The subscription will not auto-renew after you have canceled.
- No Pro-Rata Refunds: All recurring monthly fee payments processed prior to cancellation are non-refundable and non-transferable. No partial or pro-rata refunds are issued for cancellations submitted mid-cycle unless required by law.
7. Modifications to Waymo Premier
Waymo reserves the right to modify, adjust, suspend, or terminate the operational features of the Waymo Premier bundle—including the Membership Rate and Premier Benefits—at any time in its sole discretion, subject to our compliance with applicable law.
8. General Provisions
In the event of any conflict between these Premier Terms and the Waymo Terms, these Premier Terms shall prevail with regard to Waymo Premier. Except as expressly amended by these Premier Terms, the Waymo Terms remain in full force and effect, including terms related to limitations of liability, disclaimers, governing law and dispute resolution. Waymo may make changes to these Premier Terms from time to time pursuant to the process outlined in Section 23 of the Waymo Terms.
