Archive or delete a message, call, or voicemail

You can hide messages and conversations or delete them from Google Voice.

Archive conversations, calls, or voicemails

You can hide a conversation from your inbox without deleting it. If someone replies to a conversation you've archived, the messages will show up again in your inbox.

Archive one conversation, call, or voicemail

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Voice app Google Voice.
  2. Open the tab for Messages Messages tab, Calls Calls tab, or Voicemail Voicemail tab.
  3. Touch and hold the conversation, call, or voicemail you want to hide.
  4. At the top right, tap Archive Archive.

Archive multiple conversations, calls, or voicemails

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Voice app Google Voice.
  2. Open the tab for Messages Messages tab, Calls Calls tab, or Voicemail Voicemail tab.
  3. Touch and hold one of the conversations, calls, or voicemails you want to hide. Tap the rest of the conversations, calls, or voicemails.
  4. At the top right, tap Archive Archive.

Bring back conversations, calls, or voicemails you archived

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Voice app Google Voice.
  2. Tap Menu Menu and then Archive.
  3. Touch and hold the conversation, call, or voicemail you want to bring back.
    Optional: To bring back multiple archived items, touch and hold the first conversation, call, or voicemail, then tap the rest of the items.
  4. At the top right, tap Unarchive Unarchive.

Delete a conversation, call, or voicemail

After you delete a conversation, call, or voicemail, you can't see it again.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Voice app Google Voice.
  2. Open the tab for Messages Messages tab, Calls Calls tab, or Voicemail Voicemail tab.
  3. Tap the conversation, call, or voicemail you want to remove.
  4. Tap More More and then Delete.
  5. Confirm by tapping OK.

Delete text messages

After you delete a text message, you can't see it again, but it could show up on the devices of the people you chatted with.

Delete one message

  1. On your iPhone or iPad open the Google Voice app Google Voice.
  2. Open the tab for Messages Messages tab.
  3. Tap the conversation.
  4. Touch and hold the text you want to remove.
  5. Tap Delete.
  6. Confirm by tapping Delete.

Delete more than one message

  1. On your iPhone or iPad open the Google Voice app Google Voice.
  2. Open the tab for Messages Messages tab.
  3. Tap the conversation.
  4. Touch and hold a message you want to remove.
  5. Tap Select and then tap the rest of the messages you want to remove.
  6. Tap Delete Delete.
  7. Confirm by tapping Delete.
