Forward text messages or voicemail

Google Voice can forward your text messages or voicemail transcripts to your phone. 

For Voice for G Suite accounts managed by your work or school, voicemail transcripts are available in these languages.

Forward your text messages

Your forwarded text messages will show up in your usual email or texting app.

  1. On your computer, go to voice.google.com.
  2. At the top right, click Settings Settings.
  3. On the left, click Messages.
  4. Turn on the forwarding you want:
    • Forward messages to linked numbers—Next to the linked number, check the box.
    • Forward messages to email—Turn on to send text messages to your Gmail.

Forward your voicemail

Your forwarded voicemail transcripts will show up in your usual email or texting app.

  1. On your computer, go to voice.google.com.
  2. At the top right, click Settings Settings.
  3. On the left, click Voicemail.
  4. Turn on the forwarding you want:
    • Get voicemail via message—Next to the linked number, check the box.
    • Get voicemail via email—Turn on to send voicemail transcripts to your Gmail.
