You can send calls to your Google Voice number directly to voicemail.

Send calls to voicemail when you're not working

This feature is only available for work and school accounts. Sign in to your G Suite account.

When you're not working or away from the office, you can send calls to your Google Voice number directly to voicemail. Google Voice will respect the working hours and out-of-office schedule you set up in Google Calendar.

Before you begin

In Calendar, set your working hours and availability.

  1. On your Android device, open the Google Voice app Google Voice.

  2. At the top left, tap Menu Menu and then Settings.
  3. Under "Do not disturb," tap Calendar.
    • To send calls to voicemail when Calendar shows your're not working, turn on Follow working hours.
      If this option is inactive, you need to set your working hours in Calendar.
    • To send calls to voicemail when Calendar shows you're away from work, turn on Follow out of office.

Send all calls to voicemail

You can send all calls to your Google Voice number directly to voicemail. You can turn off this setting at any time, or set up a time for it to turn off automatically.

Note: This setting won't forward texts sent to your Google Voice number.

Using a computer

  1. On your computer, open Google Voice.
  2. At the top left, click Menu Menu and then Settings.
  3. Under "Account," turn on Do not disturb.

Set a timer to stop sending calls to voicemail

  1. On your computer, open Google Voice.
  2. At the top left, click Menu Menu and then Legacy Google Voice. Google Voice will look different, but you're in the right place.
  3. At the top right, click Settings Settings and then Settings.
  4. Click the "Calls" tab.
  5. In the "Do Not Disturb" section, choose the settings you want. Changes save automatically.

Using a phone

  1. On your phone, open the Google Voice app Google Voice.
  2. At the top left, tap Menu Menu and then Settings.
  3. Under "Do not disturb," turn on Do not disturb.

Banner displays when do not disturb is active

When do not disturb is turned on, you see a yellow banner at the top of your screen in Google Voice.

To turn off do not disturb:

  • From a phone, tap Expand Expand, then tap End Now.
  • From a computer, click End Now.

To change your settings:

  • From a phone, tap Expand Expand, then tap Settings.
  • From a computer, click Settings.
