I used Tag Manager to track Google Ads conversions for the last eight months or so. Conversions are generally recorded within 12 hours.

Late last week conversions stopped being recorded. Purchases continue to come in, but no conversions show in Google Ads. I did not change any settings in Google Ads or GTM that should affect this. I'm worried this will affect my tCPA campaigns soon.

Is the only procedural way to troubleshoot this to open preview mode in GTM, find one of my ads, then track it through a purchase to make sure everything is firing or is there another way?

This is most likely due to a change on your site.  I'd look at your setup there.
