More Settings -> Fields to Set

Field name: anonymizeIp
Value: true

If it helps, it should be quicker if you export a once anonymized ip and only change UA-ID etc. and import the rest.

This is only applicable to the GA Pageview tag. Correct?

No, you need it in all the tags if you want to anonymize the IP for the requests.

&aip set for the tracker. With regular analytics.js this is rarely an issue, since all requests use the same tracker. With GTM, each tag creates a unique tracker, so tracker-based fields need to be added to each tag.

Hi

Anonymize IP turns the last octet to .0, so an IP like 123.123.123.123 would become 123.123.123.0.

If your filters do not account for this then they will not be able to filter the IPs correctly. Generally, if you anonymize IP, you shouldn't use IP filters due to lack of accuracy.

Help.  I'm so confused about this, as I'm a newbie to GA...

If I have my Google Analytics site open, where (and how), exactly, do I anonymize all visitors?

There is nothing on GA that says "more settings."

Hi Kirsten

You need to set this in Google Tag Manager (This is the GTM group you are in). But only if you are using Google Tag Manager to manage you Google Analytics script.
