Set up Commanders Act to obtain user consent

To capture valuable insights while protecting user privacy, you need to collect consent from your website users. We recommend you use a Consent Management Platform (CMP) or work with your Content Management System (CMS) to collect consent and send it to Google.

Step 1: Set up a consent banner

  1. Contact Commanders Act to sign up for and get access to their platform.
  2. Create your cookies categories.
  3. Navigate to the left hand panel and open the “Sources” tab.
  4. Click Privacy Banners. From there, you'll be able to configure your banner with the “Commanders Act Consent Module”.
  5. Be sure your banner complies with the requirements in the Google EU User Consent Policy (EUUCP). For more details on Commanders Act banner setup, review this article for TagCommander or this article for Google Tag Manager.

Step 2: Set up consent mode

  1. In your Commander's Act workspace, toggle the “Google Consent Mode” to ON.
  2. From the "Modify privacy" screen, click Modify.
  3. After deployment is effective, you'll receive a URL for an easy integration on any website.
    • Click Generate and Deploy in the upper right hand corner.
