Package sorting information

Sorting information is required on packaging in France to help inform the consumer. Packaging with sorting information must be sorted separately from normal rubbish and may require separation by packaging type. Packaging should be sorted for recovery per your local recycling authority's guidance.

Required packaging sorting information is provided directly on the product packaging.* Look for a label similar to the one below (some content may vary):

Electronic device sorting information

Sorting information, or 'information des consommateurs sur la règle de tri', is required in France. This communicates to the consumer that electronic devices, including associated cables, batteries and electronic accessories, must be sorted separately from normal rubbish.

These electronic devices should be deposited for recovery at appropriate collection locations. Collection sites may include the retail location where your device was purchased or other deposit centres for electronics. Learn more about the Google recycling programme.

*Commencing with new production no later than 15 December 2022

Selective treatment by reuse and recycling facilities

EU WEEE Directive compliance

Google has identified the substances, mixtures and components that have to be removed from separately collected WEEE associated with Google-branded consumer hardware devices. This is in accordance with Annex VII in the EU WEEE Directive 2012/19/EU.

Reuse and recycling facilities shall ensure that these identified substances, mixtures and components are disposed of or recovered in compliance with Directive 2008/98/EC. These facilities can request information about the identified substances, mixtures and components requiring removal by sending an email to env-compliance@google.com.
