Blurry Images on Google Sites

I created my UX/UI portfolio with google sites and I want to upload the full length image of websites I designed; but whenever I do this, the images lose quality and appear blurry and pixelated. I have reduced file size, optimised images for web but it makes no difference.

Is it about the length of the image? Does Google sites have a max length for images? Because images with shorter lengths seem to be fine.

On mobile, one could still find it manageable but on desktop, it is really bad.

Google Sites will only store your images at a maximum of 1600x1600px, so if you upload an image longer than that it will get reduced in size to 1600px and therefore displayed at a lower resolution.

Thanks for your question on the forum. My name is Kyle and Iā€™m happy to help. šŸ˜„

I see what you mean. I visited your website and I have not encountered this issue before. Here is my testing with long images of ~1900x3500px+ But yours seem to have an even more extreme ratio. Might have to do some breaking up. =/ Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Also, nice design work!

Hello Kyle, thanks for the reply. You're right! My images are definitely very long; and yes, I did consider breaking up each image. However, I can't seem to get rid of the space between images even after grouping them together.

Is that something that is possible?

Wow! I didn't know that. Thanks a lot!
I just tried it and the images seem to be fine as long as they don't exceed 1600px.

However, to show my full designs I need to upload longer images. I don't mind breaking the images but I can't remove the space between images. Is there a solution for this?

If you can host the images elsewhere (even Drive will do) then you can use embed code to do it. We offer code on our site to make the images work like they do in Sites - see:
