You can collect basic data from your website with Analytics.*
Tip: This section is for new Google Sites. Get help with classic Google Sites.
Step 1: Get an Analytics Property ID
- If you don't already have one, sign up for an Analytics account.
- Find your Analytics Property ID.
Step 2: Add the Analytics Property ID to your site
- On your computer, open a new Google Sites.
- In the top right corner, click Settings .
- In the 'Settings' window, go to Analytics.
- Enter a valid Analytics Property ID. It should look like: 'UA-XXXXXX-X' or 'G-XXXXXXX'.
It can take up to 24 hours for data to show up in Analytics.
Step 3: See your data
- Open Analytics.
- View your data. Find out how to use Analytics.
Tip:
- Publishing a custom path to a page or renaming a page will create a new URL and might affect data tracking with Analytics.
- If site viewers reject cookies for tracking usage, the data about your site's visits and activity might be inaccurate and underestimate actual usage. Learn more about cookies.
Classic Google Sites

Use Analytics with your site
Get an Analytics Property ID
- If you don't already have one, sign up for an Analytics account.
- Find your Analytics Property ID.
Add Analytics tracking
- On a computer, open a classic Google Sites.
- Click Settings Manage site.
- Under 'Statistics', click the Down arrow Use Universal Analytics.
- In the text box, under 'Analytics Web Property ID', enter a valid Analytics Property ID. It should look like: 'UA-XXXXXX-X'. To use a Property ID that begins with 'G-XXXXXXX', you must convert to new Sites.
- At the top, click Save.
It can take up to 24 hours for data to show up in Analytics.
