Impr share (abs top) % column

Applicable to Google Ads, Microsoft Advertising, and Yahoo! Japan only

Search absolute top impression share, abbreviated as “Impr share (abs top) %”, is the impressions you’ve received in the absolute top location (the very first ad above the organic search results) divided by the estimated number of impressions you were eligible to receive in the absolute top location.

Absolute top impression share = Impressions on absolute top/eligible impressions on absolute top

Example

  • 50 of an ad's 200 impressions appear at the absolute top of the page.
  • The ad enters 400 auctions, 100 of which are auctions for the absolute top of the page.
  • Impr share (abs top) % = 50 / 100 = 50%

You can use this metric as a target to set your bid if you want to increase the percentage of your ads that show at the absolute top of the search results page.

A Search Ads 360 impression share bid strategy can set bids to target an impression share.
