Generate and manage upgraded inventory campaigns
Edit an inventory template
Before you start: impact of editing a template
Changes you make to many of the settings in a template are applied only to newly generated items. They do not affect items that have already generated. For example, the Daily budget and Budget delivery method fields in a campaign template are only used when generating new campaigns. Changes you make to those settings do not affect existing campaigns.
Other changes, such as changing the Name setting in a campaign template, could result in Search Ads 360 renaming all of your existing campaigns as well as affecting the names of newly generated campaigns. Search Ads 360 would only rename existing campaigns if the template output no longer matches the names of the campaigns that have already been generated.
Edits that you make to templates will be visible under your change history.
The following table lists the edits that will be applied to existing items, as well as edits that apply only when items are generated:
Template | Changes to these settings are applied to existing items as well as new items |

In some engines, when you update ad copy or ad URLs, the engine deletes the old ad and creates a new one. Metrics aren't carried over to the new ad. This applies to ads that were generated by inventory templates as well: updating ad copy will delete the old ad and create a new one. Search Ads 360 keeps track of the ad that was edited and does not generate a new ad with the old copy, even if the templates would normally generate it. |
