Post-production

The custom Lightbox format is for clients with a full creative production team who want to fully customize their advertising unit.

Submission and turnaround times vary by region. Contact your Media Solutions Consultant for region specific timelines.

Timeline: In this scenario, the creative agency sends Studio final, client-approved assets at least 8-9 business days in advance of launch. Studio completes the post-production by finalizing the unit in Studio, adding in the rich media tracking metrics, and creating a working preview.

  • Asset delivery to Studio (9-11 business days before launch)
  • Studio production and QA (4 business days)
  • Revisions and Client Approval (2-3 business days)
  • Trafficking in Campaign Manager (1-2 business day)
  • Google Display Network Google Ads site testing and whitelisting (2 business days)

Assets delivery: The final, client approved files and any additional loaded assets (HTML/JavaScript/CSS files, video URLs, etc.) must be delivered to Studio 8-9 business days before launch.

Please review the Lightbox specs prior to submitting assets.

Include the following in the asset delivery:

  • Final invitation state assets (HTML/JS/CSS) in same dimensions as ad sizes
  • Final expanded state assets
  • Any video assets - YouTube Video URLs OR video assets
  • Any additional loaded assets - XML files, JS files, CSS files, audio clips, game icons, etc.
  • All exit URLs with instructions on where to implement clicks/exits and to which corresponding URL.
  • A Backup GIF or JPG (50k or less in the same dimensions as invitation state(s))
  • Any brand study or impression pixels as well as any third-party clickthrough URLs that you wish to include
    • View the list of accepted third-party tracking vendors.
    • All brand study pixels are required at the time of asset delivery as, per YouTube spec, they need to be embedded in the creative code rather than in Campaign Manager. This requires additional production and QA time.
    • Upon delivery, indicate if the pixels should be implemented on impression or click.
    • The collection of customer lists from remarketing pixels in ads is not accepted. However, you may either target ads to existing remarketing lists, or use tag-less storyboarding remarketing. Storyboarding allows advertisers to create a list of people who engaged with their Lightbox ad, which can be used for a remarketing campaign. This feature requires a list of beta testers from Google. If you are interested, please contact your Google representative. A list of engaged customers will appear along with your other customer lists on the "Remarketing" tab in Google Ads. Learn more about our remarketing policy.

QA only

This method of production can be leveraged by Studio certified creative agencies who build the unit and submit to QA for review.

Submission and turnaround times vary by region. Contact your Media Solutions Consultant for region specific timelines.

Timeline: In this scenario, the creative agency submits the creative built in Studio for QA review.

  • Asset delivery to Studio (7-8 business days before launch)
  • Studio production and QA (4 business days)
  • Revisions and client approval (1-2 business days)*
  • Trafficking in Campaign Manager (1 business day)
  • GDN site testing and trafficking in Google Ads (3 business days)
  • Launch

*This assumes one revision round. If client needs more than one revision round, add one day per round.

Assets delivery: Using this production model does not require creative agencies to deliver assets to the Studio Solutions Consultant.

Please review the Lightbox specs prior to submitting assets.
