What Trainers can do

A Qwiklabs administrator or coordinator can assign a trainer (instructor) to a classroom.

When a trainer signs in to Qwiklabs, the Classrooms page  shows the classrooms where the trainer is assigned. 

View a classroom where you are a trainer

  1. On the Classrooms page , click In SessionUpcoming, or Past.
  2. Click the name of a classroom.

Add or remove students in a classroom

  1. Click In Session or Upcoming, and then click the classroom name.
  2. Click the Students tab. 
    • Add a student: Click Add Student and type the student's email address.
    • Remove a student: Select the student's email and click the delete icon .

Note: Removing a student from a classroom does not remove the student's Qwiklabs account.

Activate a lab in a classroom (enables students to start the lab)

  1. Click In Session, click the classroom name, and then click the Labs tab.
  2. Select the lab. Click the green Activate Lab button.
Activate all labs in a classroom (enables students to start any lab in the class)
  1. Click In Session, and click the classroom name.
  2. In the top menu bar, click .

Deactivate all labs (prevents students from starting any labs)

  1. Click In Session, and click the classroom name.
  2. In the top menu bar, click .

Note: If a student is currently doing a lab (that is, the student started the lab before the trainer deactivated the labs), the student can continue with that lab until the lab timer runs out.

Give a student more time to finish a lab

A trainer can add time to a student's lab. The student must have already started the lab (clicked the Start Lab button). The trainer needs to add the extra time before the student's lab timer runs out.

  1. Click the Labs tab, and then click the name of the lab.
  2. Scroll down the Labs page to the list of students.
  3. Select the checkbox for the student. Click Add 10 Minutes.

Note: A student cannot pause a lab and finish it later.

 

End a student's lab (student will lose all work for that lab)

This option is available only while the student is running the lab.

  1. Click In Session, click the classroom name, and then click the Labs tab.
  2. Click the name of the lab.
  3. On the right, scroll down and select the student's checkbox.  Click End Student's Lab.
