Pleeeeeeeeease give us the option to turn off this "feature." It's slowing me down to not be able to easy jump back and forth between drives and to know where the heck I am. HELP

I would like to chime in that I am having the exact same problem as the OP on my Mac. I swear this was working before just a few months ago and now isn't working. This is on my work computer and I was having an unrelated printing issue where he had to re-install / re-link the printer driver. Not sure if it's related, but seems likely?
