Reply to Google Assistant not responding after "Hey Google"

In the time that I've been waiting for this to be resolved, I ended up switching temporarily to an iPhone to use with my wireless display, and that process worked just fine. Shortly afterwards, my display was damaged and I replaced with a different model. I tried wireless android auto with this display and to my surprise, it seems to work fine. I don't know if it was a display unit, or recent app update, but I'm happily using Wireless Android Auto once again.

Similar problems here on a Pixel 7 Pro, and Pixel 7a after recent updates. Wired Android Auto seems to still work ok, but wireless android auto to two different head units has stopped being able to hear any microphone input. I have captured a bug report and submitted. Hopefully they'll be able to find the issue and resolve soon.
