I have had the issue with two different pixel 2 xl's. With USB C headphones the device will not consistently recognize the headphones as an audio device. Sometimes it's fine. Other times the phone will stop playing audio every few seconds and think the headphones are a charger or play the audio out of the phone. I'll restart the audio, but seconds later the same thing happens. This repeats over and over. This is on brand new phones and nothing is touching the connection. I have noticed a correlation between this issue and my cell signal and or wifi signal. It happens on my bus every day in the exact same two locations where cell coverage is spotty and at my house, downstairs where either cell or wifi may be spotty. Is it possible that the phone searching for network connections is causing this? I probably won't wait for the answer. I'll be returning the phone for a second time. There won't be a third as the phone has restarted unexpectedly multiple times and I also can't listen to anything though regular headphones using a dongle. There is such an annoying buzzing over the audio it drives me crazy. Tried multiple headphones with the same result. Besides who wants to use a dongle just to listen to music. No headphone jack? I thought Apple was the only one who made such blatant money grabs under the guise of "design decisions". Great camera, shitty phone. You fucked up Google.
