Same here. Count has gone from 292 to 278 over the last few days

I've been noticing a steady fall over the last couple of weeks. My profile suggests 292 reviews, from my wife's, viewing mine I see 278 reviews which was 288 a few days ago. However, if viewing my account from my wife's and I click on "Contributions" at the top - I can see my review count is displayed correctly as 292.

Talk about rubbing salt in it. Just received an email from Local Guides with my contributions .... guess what's top of my list .. "Wolfscote Dale" ... but nobody can see it !!! 😕 


I've sent in a couple of requests (with 2+ week gap between) using the form Scorpions mentioned - "Account investigation for contributions not visible on Google Maps", but no luck.

I've removed a couple of photos including the duck and one scenery shot (nearly a duplicate). I've removed the name of the road with layby parking (in case locals are disgruntled). I can't see any reason how the review breaks any of Google's rules. None of my photos are showing up when I'm logged in (there's no "Your Photos" tab) and the view count on my profile dropped a fair amount now they're no-longer publicly viewable. 

Is there anything else I can do, or just repeatedly send in the above form until I decide it's time to give up? 😪

"This is a stunning area to walk with it's sloping valley sides and rocky crags running alongside the River Dove. It's more peaceful and less well known than Dovedale. The paths can be accessed from Hartington or near Beresford Dale where we generally set off from. We walk over the bridge bearing right until the riverside path passes a small cave up the slope on the left. Continuing on you eventually reach the sign for Biggin Dale with it's old lead mine entrance alongside the track.

If you walked down from Hartington you can continue on upwards at Biggin Dale and head left along the lanes back to where you started as a circular walk. We head back along the same path taking in the views from the opposite direction.

The rubble path is solid with no hills to climb unless you've a mind to set off on one of the alternative routes. It's possible to walk all the way to Dovedale around five miles away via Milldale. Look out for Buzzards as they can be seen flying above the crags here and the river has trout to spot too."

I know this is not the right way to go about things William, but I was hoping you might take a look at a review you had kindly got re-instated which has now disappeared yet again 😪

I'll delete this comment if it's inappropriate. 
The review (as with all my other reviews) are written from personal on-site experience ... never AI generated or "spammy?" / photos always my own. If you've read the above comments, you might note it was re-instated by the Google Team the first time, .. unedited .. so had no actual issues that they nor I could see.

I have no idea why this was removed again, and hopefully someone might give me a sensible heads-up as to why, or kindly report it back to the team before I fill in the request form. It's 27 "likes" and 15,000+ views suggest it was at least a somewhat relevant review with some images having 250,000+ views.

Unfortunately this review has once again disappeared from public view !

I have been requested to drop a note here as reference to the issue I wrote about - HERE recently.

Before I fill in the form to request a review, (as highlighted by Scorpions), I'd hoped someone might see if this could once again be resolved. Again, I cannot find anything at fault with the review as obviously the Google Team agreed on the previous occasion prior to them placing it back in public view.

Thanks for the suggestion, Scorpions. However, the other posting (marked as resolved) related to what appeared to be a different cause for the same review. On that occasion the review disappeared after I added "Recommended activities" to it. This time nothing had been changed since last year until I removed two images yesterday in the hope they might have been the cause of it's disappearance.

I feel adding this issue to the previous post could cause some confusion?
Thanks for the link Scorpions 👍 I had used the mentioned form the last time this review disappeared. Unfortunately, after waiting some time, it remained hidden. William intervened last time and asked me not to fill it out again as he'd made direct contact with the Google Team (and had it re-instated). I'll certainly try the request form again, but thought I'd try here first this time.

It's looking like the split screen view is a maniacal choice by Google and not a slip-up / bug 🤔🤨 Frustrating !!!

I've no idea why, other than thinking it's an accidental bug as there's no issue with desktop Photos.

Yes - you're right. Looks like they've removed the original display of "payment card(s)" only, and skipped straight to the "Show all" cards view (which was working from the lockscreen throughout the glitch) 🤔 It's a patch that I think will certainly do for now, and I suppose there's no need to click twice to get to my Loyalty cards before paying at the till now 😉

At least it's been looked at and some correction made, so we should be thankful for that. Shame it took so much bantering back and forth to get the issue acknowledged. I can certainly live with the functionality of the lockscreen Wallet shortcut as-is.

As an update 7-01-23

I've now been asked to send in a saved Bug Report (via Developer Options / USB Debugging, etc) after I'd sent in the screen-capture video of the issue occurring. Bug report now sent 👍 

I'll update here when I hear anything back, but hopefully someone is (now?) going to actually take a good look at the problem.

Anyone else noticed the "Trending Posts" section for Google Wallet Help Community, disappeared?? Is nothing "Trending" anymore ?? 🤔😉

Thanks for getting back. Unfortunately, I'm not sure that "this is working as intended as you were able to use the Google Wallet app independently" is correct if I understand you. Opening Wallet from the lockscreen should not cause it to disappear from view.

The increasing number of people commenting about their experience of this exact same issue / bug would surely support this? Apologies if I've misunderstood you.

I have just sent in a direct feedback using the information from the link you shared. I hope someone is able to identify what has gone wrong with using Wallet from the lockscreen since the December update.

I am as frustrated as you are right now on finding out that the January 2024 update does not resolve the issue of your phone. Once more, I am sorry to hear about this. I need you to go to Settings > Display > Lock Screen > Shortcuts. Are you able to see the Google Wallet app there?
You can provide me with a screenshot to help me figure this out for you.

I noticed a security update was available yesterday evening, so installed it overnight.

Until the fix hopefully sorts this out, as Ciaran Sweet mentioned... HERE ...
Even when Wallet has disappeared from view after Fingerprint Unlock - it is apparently still active and NFC Payment can be made whilst only the Homescreen is visible (no need to click anything else). I tested this, and it works.
HOWEVER....
Worryingly, the (invisible) cards can also be "swiped over" to any other payment cards you have (N.B. Ciaran had his works credit card in Wallet and could have unknowingly swiped over to that). If you have cards you don't want to pay with at the time, it might be best to use the ""Show All" FIRST suggestion, or just open Wallet from it's app icon after unlocking the phone.

I tested using the "disappeared" from view cards, and yes ... it does pay via NFC after the homescreen appears. Luckily I only have my own cards on there 👍
Finally indeed 😂 Took some getting to obtain a confirmation that they were even looking at this problem 👍
