Pixel 5 - Gap between screen and body

Was wondering if someone could take a look at this.

There seems to be quite a lot of units popping up where there's a gap between the display and the frame/body.

I'm not the owner of the above thread but I do have the issue.

Can someone from Google clarify the issue.

Is this normal?
Does this cause issues with waterproofing?
How/why has this happened on a £600 device?

Hi Pixel Community,
We’ve had a chance to investigate units from customers and, combined with our quality control data from the factory, we can confirm that the variation in the clearance between the body and the display is a normal part of the design of your Pixel 5. There is no effect on the water and dust resistance or functionality of your phone. We will work with customers on an individual basis to address any concerns they may have.

Scott, we are still waiting for your reply. This seems to be a ginormous blunder for the release of this phone. I got my phone from Best buy and I have the issue as well. The color is black. This issue needs to be addressed and early adopters need to be compensated.

Just received mine (also black) from Verizon and it seems there is a small gap especially along the top. I wish i could get info now.. i may just have to return the phone to play it safe..
