Pixel 4a Screen flicker while viewing Instagram stories

The screen flickers when viewing Instagram stories. This happened after the android 11 update. Fixed it temporarily by switching off adaptive brightness. Is there a permanent solution to the problem?

I am having the same issues while viewing Instagram stories and also when creating stories (often if I add a GIF that will glitch/flicker). I have also experienced this with other apps notably Amazon. 

I have a Pixel 4a (5G) which is less than 2 weeks old.

Pixel 2 XL here, problem is resolved. Not sure what fixed it. I get a lot of updates. I also have beta instagram(168.0.0.36.355) update, which is 2 days old. Latest android updates seem to be from november 11th.
