I was just wondering if you can start looking into supporting the Pixel 3 / Pixel 3 XL for eSIM compatibility in Australia. Specifically the major telcos like Optus/Telstra/Vodafone
There is no reason why Google cannot support eSIM as iPhones already have been working with eSIM at the moment with Optus etc.

Hello Hoochie, the Pixel 3 already supports eSIM anywhere in the world as long as your Carrier supports eSIM.
So if you're on Optus and Optus supports eSIM, just contact them and ask them to swap your physical SIM to eSIM, they would give you a QR Code or a string of characters which you can scan/add under Settings > Network & internet > Mobile network > Advanced > Carrier > Add carrier.
Ask them for the code even if they say only the iPhone supports eSIM right now. eSIM codes are universal and should work on any phone that supports eSIM just like physical SIMs work on all (unlocked) phones.

Hello, yes that's what I thought as well. I even went to an Optus store, got the QR code and processed a sim to esim swap. It didn't work and said there was an error and to contact my carrier. This is a direct from Google pixel 3XL as well. Could it be Optus is blocking esim on non iPhone devices on their end?

It could be, but it's definitely not the Pixel 3 that is blocking it because the Pixel 3 does support eSIM.

If it's not working on your carrier, you have to bring it up with your carrier not with Google.

Can you please post a screenshot of the message that you get when you try to scan the QR code?

No problem, this is what I get.

Just want to know where to focus my attention on if it's Google not supporting eSIM in Australia or Optus not supporting eSIM on anything other than iPhones as their site states here;

No mention of Pixel or other eSIM capable phones for some reason.

MJ25, he got it to work on a pixel 3a.  The Australian pixel 3a has esim support in Australia (it works on Vodafone officially, but also works with Telstra and Optus despite no official support).  The pixel 3a also supports simultaneous use of the Sim and E-Sim (DSDS)

The Australian Pixel 3 does not support E-Sim, and even in regions where it is supported, the E-Sim cannot be used at the same time as the Sim card.  Pretty crazy given the device costs twice as much as a 3a.  The apparently deliberate exclusion of E-Sim in Australia is even worse, given Australian pricing is higher than most markets where E-Sim is supported!
